Amazing Trip In March 2024 I went on my first trip with Kamzang Journeys and it was fantastic. I have now booked four more trips to do with the same company. Kim the owner of the company works tirelessly to ensure her guests have an amazing time, and is very well supported by an amazing crew that have been with her for years.

Amazing cycling trip in Ladakh This was the seventh trip I have done with Kim. Her last organisation and planning of the trip was meticulous as usual, ensuring my safety and that everything possible was done to make the journey as enjoyable as possible. The campsites were great and the food fabulous. Great company too with superb helpful staff. Thank you!

EBC Plus Trek I chose Kamzang Journeys to take me to Everest Base Camp and through Cho La and Renjo La passes in December 2023. Kim was accommodating with organising a suitable itinerary and setting me up for the trip, clarifying questions promptly and serving as a much-appreciated point of contact. All staff I interacted with were professional and ensured a seamless journey from arrival to departure. I was particularly impressed with Nuru, who welcomed me into Kathmandu and made me feel comfortable. Thanks, Nuru! The Trek itself was spectacular, having no problems with altitude sickness due to the responsible approach to acclimatisation that Kamzang enforced. While the Trek was difficult at times, I never felt overextended and appreciated some slightly alternative routes and time to explore on my own with extra energy in the tank. Kamzang can adapt their itineraries to your needs with ease. What I enjoyed most was my time with my guide, Futashi and porter Sujan. Considering it was not peak season when I visited, I had the trails primarily to myself, building a connection with them, gaining insight into the region and reflecting upon the complex dynamic between tourism, tradition and macro environmental concerns while also having a good laugh. I went for quiet time and the mountains (which I got) but I remember the people most. There’s a lot on offer outside the destinations on your Trek, and Kamzang can help guide you to them!

The perfect basecamp trip Throughly well organised by experienced and knowledgeable guides. High passes route provides excellent and suitably challenging treks with sherpa cultural encounters as a bonus. Highly recommended!

Nomad Trek - Summer 2023 I went on a month-long Nomads Trek in Ladakh with Kamzang Journeys in summer 2023. The trek was interesting and well-planned, including great food and a fabulous dining tent. The scenery is unbelievable, and it’s fascinating to observe the nomad culture before it dies away. Kim and Lhakpa are exemplary guides. Both are extremely knowledgeable about the area and have explored it in depth. We often got to meet local people and were invited into nomad tents where we sampled local delicacies, such as butter tea and yak yogurt (delicious!). Kim is consistently enthusiastic and on top of every detail. Lhakpa seems to speak all languages and can repair anything, no matter how high or no tech. The staff is first-rate – Junar, Suresh, Yam, Sherap, Samphel, Tenzing -- great guys who are always ready to help. Most of them were with Kim and Lhakpa when I first trekked in Ladakh more than 17 years ago.

Amazing experience I trekked with Kim’s team to EBC in November 2023 with a private guide and it was an amazing experience that I would highly recommend. Kim has been working with her team for many years and it shows. They work seamlessly together and really take care of their clients. You always feel safe and cared for, surrounded by people who have spent extensive time trekking in the Himalayas. My husband and I hiked to Everest Base Camp with our Sherpa Phutashi and I would highly recommend him. Not only did we always feel safe and cared for we truly enjoyed the time we spent together. It is important to like your guide if you are going to be trekking together for two weeks and I can say we were sad to have to say goodbye. The mountains are beautiful and the wonderful people we met along the way made this experience even better. Kim and her team are great at what they do and I would not hesitate to book with them again for our next adventure.

Everest High Passes Did this trek with my daughter Nov.-Dec. 2023 and am inspired to write my first ever online review. This was a totally terrific trip. Kim and Lhakpa (owners) and their entire team are 10/10. Well organized, very challenging, but always fun. So much positive energy. The scenery is way beyond the capacity of pictures to portray. The best acclimatization schedule I have ever experienced. I want to especially recognize the consistent trekker centered focus. Health considerations required two helicopter evacuations. These were efficiently organized (good outcomes) with the health of the trecker the absolute first priority. I really appreciated knowing that if I had difficulties the Kamzang team would take care of me.

Incredible trekking with an incredible team Kamzang Journeys and the Kamzang team are an incredible trekking company. They offer the most interesting itineraries to places most other trekking companies don't go to. The team is like a family, they look out for each other, take care of their clients incredibly well and feed you way too much food. I have been trekking in Ladakh with them, their standards are very high, the horses are well looked after, there are many interactions with locals and there is always a thermos of chai available when you need it. Tents are comfortable and there's even a shower tent with hot water on occasion. They do their best to accommodate all your requests. I have done 3 treks with them now in India and Nepal and still want to do more.

Mustang Trek 2023 A wonderful adventure and journey to one of the most remote and beautiful (culturally and geographically) places on earth. I had an amazing time, and every moment of every day was special. Kamzang Journeys (with Kim & Lhakpa at the helm) made the trip incredible...with deep and rich 'local-knowledge', contacts, meticulous planning and attention to detail.

I've trekked with Kim a total of six times--in Nepal, India, Mongolia, and Tibet. That pretty much says it all. Once you've trekked with Kim and her stellar crew, you won't want to explore the Himalaya with anyone else. She knows the region as well as anyone, and on each journey manages to offer just the right combination of adventure, safety and comfort, with intineraries that go beyond the usual highlights. For the record, I have used other outfitters, but I prefer to travel with Kamzang whenever possible.

Kim Bannister and Lhakpa Sherpa are fabulous hosts for trekking and touring in the Himalayas. Totally client focused, fun, and experienced in giving you the adventure of your life. I went with them on three treks in Nepal over a 10 year period that were some of the greatest adventures of my life. Kim has been doing this for many years---no better choice. Go trekking with Kim! You will see amazing places.

I did the Kamzang Everest High Passes loop in November of 2021, and it was a fantastic experience! The crew took great care of us, and even managed a special Thanksgiving dinner. I was very impressed with their professionalism and the "above and beyond" they offered to make sure we were okay all the way to the airport during the challenging COVID times.

I recently had the pleasure of taking part in an unforgettable trekking journey with Kamzang Journeys, and it was truly a highlight of my time in Nepal. Our guides, Kim and Lhakpa, were simply incredible; their knowledge and expertise of the region was remarkable. From navigating the winding trails of the Himalayas to providing valuable insight into the culture and customs of local people, they always looked out for us and made sure we were safe at all times. The accommodation they arranged for us was comfortable and cozy, and the meals provided during our stay were delicious. Overall, this was an amazing experience that we will never forget – thanks to Kim and Lhakpa! Highly recommended. 5 stars!
